Miami overcomes its offensive struggles for a late drive, capped by Damon Huard's 17-yard TD pass to Oronde Gadsden w/ 1:10 to play. Indianapolis' desperation 59-yard FG attempt by Mike Vanderjagt on the final play is blocked.

The win puts Miami in 1st place by itself. Edgerrin James rushes for 118 yards and catches 5 passes for 37 yards, but the Dolphins manage to put the brakes on the Colts' attack in scoring territory.
