Jacques Villeneuve takes the win late in Cleveland.

Villeneuve catapults from 4th to 1st after a late re-start to take the win in a duel with Bryan Herta. Michael Andretti led at the re-start, but damage from earlier contact made him vulnerable and both Villeneuve and Herta took advantage.

Its an unlikely win for Villeneuve as it was a 2-man race throughout with Gil de Ferran and Teo Fabi dominating. After strategy and a fast pit stop allowed Fabi to overtake de Ferran at the 2nd round of pit stops, he's sidelined with a cracked exhaust pipe. The race belongs to de Ferran until he makes contact fighting for track space with lapped Scott Pruitt, sending de Ferran off with damage.
