Michael Schumacher runs down Mika Hakkinen to capture the World Championship in Sazuka.

Hakkinen's Mclaren gets the best of Schumacher early in the race, but after the 1st round of pit stops, Schumacher reels him in to become the 1st World Champion for Ferrari since 1979. Schumacher beats Hakkinen by less than 2 seconds with Mclaren's David Coulthard finishing a distant 3rd.
