Helio Castroneves wins the fuel gamble and race for a repeat win at the Brickyard.

A late caution flag allows Castroneves to coast to the finish line on fumes ahead of Paul Tracy. Castroneves is barely holding off Tracy on lap 199 when the final caution comes out. Castroneves had not led in his Team Penske vehicle until lap 177, and he held the position until lap 182 when another caution comes out and the decision to gamble on fuel mileage is made.

Felipe Giaffone, Alex Barron and Eddie Cheever round out the top 5.
