Race Notes

Sebastian Vettel's roll continues at the Circuit of the Americas.

Vettel sprints away from the pole position, managing his lead throughout, en route to his 1st win in the United States and his 8th win overall, breaking the record for consecutive wins in a season, and placing him 1 behind Alberto Ascari's record set over the 1952-53 seasons. Vettel's 12th win of the season also puts him 1 behind Michael Schumacher's record 13 in 2004.

Lotus' Romain Grosjean makes the most of a good start, that vaults him from 3rd into 2nd, where he wages a title battle with Vettel's Red Bull teammate Mark Webber for the 2nd step on the podium. Grosjean wins the battle for his 1st 2nd-place finish of the season. Webber settles for 3rd place.
