Game Notes

#17 Wolfpack rout the #12 Irish 28-6.

N.C. State dominates Notre Dame for its 11th win, and even tries to add insult to injury by 'finishing' (the BS coaching excuse for running it up) by having Philip Rivers throwing deep late in the 4th quarter. Rivers goes 23-of-37 for 228 yards and 2 TDs, with Jerricho Cotchery catching 10 passes for 127 yards and 1 TD.

Rivers' 9-yard TD pass to Cotchery late in the 2nd half gives the Wolfpack a 21-3 lead, and the Irish never recover from the devastating 1st half when T.A. McLendon scores a pair of TDs for N.C. State and Notre Dame loses starting QB Caryle Holiday to an injury.

The highlight on the Wolfpack's 1st half is a trick play that results in 3-yard TD run by McLendon.
