Chris Downs rushes for 212 yards and 3 TDs to lead Maryland. Downs, starting for injured Bruce Perry, breaks open a 6-3 game with a 15-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter, followed by a 1-yarder and then a 64-yard sprint in the 4th quarter, giving the Terps a 27-3 lead over Georgia Tech.

Less than a minute after Downs' 3rd TD, Dominique Foxworthy returns a fumble 12 yards for a score and the rout is on. Scooter Monroe catches 5 passes for 106 yards to give balance to Maryland's attack.
