North Carolina threatens to rally, pulling within 24-14 in the 3rd quarter, but Texas has a strong finishing kick as Chris Simms tosses his 3rd and 4th TDs of the game, and Cedric Benson puts an exclamation point on his 208-yard night with a 17-yard TD run in the 4th quarter.

Benson scores on a pair of runs while Simms throws for 298 yards. Roy Williams is Simms' top target, catching 5 passes for 136 yards and 2 TDs, including a 58-yarder that starts Texas' final push to put away the Heels.
