Game Notes

#2 Hurricanes barely survive 22-20 over the Mountaineers.

Miami keeps its 37-game regular season winning streak alive when Jon Peattie hits a 23-yard FG w/ :11, capping a 8-play, 66-yard drive. West Virginia had taken a lead with 2:00 left when Quincy Wilson scores a 33-yard TD reception on a pass-and-run from Rasheed Marshall. Wilson's 99 yards rushing, 3 catches for 43 yards and 2 TDs position the Mountaineers for the huge upset.

However, Kellen Winslow hauls in 10 passes for 104 yards, including a miraculous leaping catch on 4th-and-13 that keeps alive the winning drive. Jarrett Payton steps in when Frank Gore is lost to a knee injury and rushes for 72 yards while catching 10 passes for 71 yards. But Payton fumbles setting up Wilson's late go-ahead TD.

Peattie nails 5 FGs to provide most of the Hurricanes' output.
