Game Notes

#20 Hurricanes turn the tide on the #14 Yellow Jackets 33-17.

Jacory Harris tosses 3 TDs, leading Miami to its first win over Georgia Tech in 5 years. The Hurricanes jump on the Jackets, burying the team that had rushed for 472 yards in a 2008 humilation of Miami.

Harris connects with Laron Byrd on a 40-yard TD pass in the 1st quarter to give Miami a 7-3 lead. He follows it with a 13-yard TD pass to Dedrick Epps to help the Hurricanes take a 17-3 lead at halftime. Javarris James extends the lead with a 3-yard TD run early in the 3rd quarter, and Harris answers Georgia Tech's 1st TD with a 14-yard TD pass to Jimmy Graham for a 31-10 lead late in the 3rd quarter.

Harris finishes 20-of-25 for 270 yards. Graig Cooper runs for 93 yards and James adds 72. The Jackets, who had run wild on Miami in 2008, manage just 95 yards on the ground.
