Tigers hold off the #20 Cardinal for a 27-21 win.

Clemson sprints out to a 27-0 lead in the 1st half, but must weather a big 2nd half rally by Stanford as Brad Muster scores 3 TDs. The Tigers counter with a strong running game led by Terrence Flagler and Kenny Flowers.

Clemson strikes for 20 points in the 2nd quarter to open the comfortable lead. Rodney Williams scores with a 1-yard keeper, and following a 22-yard FG by David Treadwell, the Tigers convert a turnover into a 14-yard TD run by Ray Williams and 24-0 lead.

Flagler and Flowers combine for 149 yards rushing as Clemson runs for 238 yards. However, Muster takes over in the 2nd half, finishing with 70 yards and 1 TD on the ground and 4 catches for 53 yards and 2 TDs. His 37-yard TD catch from Greg Ennis pulls Stanford within 27-21 w/ 2:50 left to play.
