Cal jumps on Clemson from the very start and never lets up. The Bears cap the opening drive with a 1-yard TD run by Greg Zomalt to set the tone.

After a FG, Cal extends the lead to 17-0 on a 72-yard punt return for a score by Brian Treggs. Russell White rushes for 102 yards and a TD to lead the Bears, while Mike Pawlawski adds 230 yards and 1 TD passing.
