Bengals hold off the Lions for 31-27 win.

Cincinnati jumps in front 21-6 and withstands a rally by Detroit, sparked by Desmond Howard's 229 yards on kick returns. The Lions appeared headed for a blowout loss when Howard's 91-yard KO return sets up Lamont Warren's 1-yard TD run w/ :21 left before halftime.

Detroit completes the comeback, taking a 27-24 lead on Charlie Batch's 2nd TD hookup with David Sloan. However, Jon Kitna rallies the Bengals in the 4th quarter to regain the lead.
