Miami knocks out Alex Van Pelt early and is able to control the game to secure a home wild card berth. Buffalo pulls within 13-7 on Alex Brown's 12-yard TD pass to Larry Centers in the 3rd.

However, the Dolphins finish off the Bills in the 4th quarter as Jay Fiedler hits James McKnight for a 16-yard TD pass before scrambling in for an 18-yard TD. Brock Marion puts the exclamation point on the victory with a 100-yard INT return for a score on the final play.
