Kansas City recovers from losing a 19-0 lead after Drew Brees replaces Doug Flutie and rallies San Diego to 4 scores on 4 straight possession to claim a 20-19 lead on Brees' 20-yard TD pass to Freddie Jones w/ 6:10 to play. The Chiefs answer on the ensuing series, capping it with a 1-yard TD run by Tony Richardson w/ 1:26 left.

Brees goes 15-of-27 for 221 yards and 1 TD while leading a big comeback by San Diego in his 1st appearance. However, the Chargers dig a big hole in the 1st half, and Priest Holmes has a mega day rushing for 181 yards and 1 TD.
