Game Notes

Ravens prevail in a battle of big plays with the Colts for a 39-27 victory.

Baltimore blanks Indianapolis in the 4th quarter, and Elvis Grbac hits Qadry Ismail with a 5-yard TD pass for a 32-27 lead, and then Rod Woodson picks Peyton Manning late and returns it 47-yards for his NFL-record 10th INT return for a score to seal the outcome.

The Colts get a 30-yard INT return for a score by Jeff Burris to tie it at 10-10. However, Baltimore opens a 19-10 lead in the 3rd quarter before a chaotic series of plays. A punt downed at the 1, followed by a fumble by Mushmouth sets up a FG by Mike Vanderjagt. Jermaine Lewis returns the ensuing kickoff 64 yards before fumbling into the end zone for a touchback. The Colts then respond with a 29-yard pass to Marcus Pollard followed by a 40-yard hookup between Manning and Pollard for a TD and 20-19 lead.

A 55-yard run on the next series sets up Obafemi Ayanbadejo's 9-yard TD run for a 26-20 lead. However, the lead lasts just 2 plays as Manning hits Marvin Harrison for a 57-yard TD pass.

Manning goes 27-of-47 for 310 yards and 2 TDs, while Grbac is 27-of-39 for 268 yards and 2 TDs.
