Patriots escape with a 12-9 win over the Bills in OT.

Adam Vinatieri's 4th FG, a 23-yarder with 9:35 left in OT, decides it following a key replay reversal and a 40-yard run by Antowain Smith on the following play. Replay over-ruled a fumble recovery by Buffalo when a player was touching the out-of-bounds line. The disappointment is compounded by Smith's big run to set up the winning score.

Smith rushes for 95 yards and Tom Brady throws for 237 yards, but the Bills defense inflicts punishment, sacking him 5 times in the 2nd half. Buffalo had taken a 9-6 lead after 2 FGs by Shayne Graham in the 4th quarter, but Vinatieri hits a 25-yarder with 2:45 left to tie it.
