Patriots pummel the Jets 41-7 on MNF.

New England rushes for 330 yards and 4 TDs and never is challenged by New York. The Patriots take the opening kickoff and drive for a 4-yard TD run by Andy Johnson. Meanwhile, New England's defense hammers Joe Namath and the Jets' offense.

The Patriots extend the lead to 20-0 in the 2nd quarter when Steve Grogan picks up a fumble and carries it in 6 yards for a score and then hits Johnson for a 10-yard TD pass. Grogan hits 14-of-23 for 182 yards and 1 TD and runs 103 yards and 1 TD on 7 carries. Sam Cunningham adds 83 yards and another TD.
