Battling for a playoff berth, Baltimore rallies to take the lead in the 4th quarter on Bert Jones' 34-yard TD pass to Lydell Mitchell. However, in the final minute, deep in their own end and lead Detroit 10-6, the Colts elect to punt rather than take a safety.

Baltimore executes poorly and the punt is blocked wit Leonard Thompson picking the ball up and carrying it in from 2 yards out for the winning score. The Colts commit 4 turnovers, negativing a 349-to-201 edge in yardage.
