Game Notes

Raiders reprise their Super Bowl XII beating of the Vikings, winning 35-13 to claim a wildcard berth.

Less than a year after humilating Minnesota in the Super Bowl, Oakland repeats it, capitalizing on 4 fumbles and 3 INTs. After Mark van Eeghan's 2-yard TD run gets the Raiders in front, they convert turnovers into 2 more 1st quarter TDs.

After a fumble at the 15, Kenny Stablber hits Cliff Branch with a 10-yard TD pass 3 plays later. Willie Hall takes the next fumble in for a 2-yard TD and 21-0 lead. Fittingly, Minnesota's 1st score comes off a turnover when Nate Wright returns a fumble 27 yards for a TD.

However, Oakland tacks on TDs in the 3rd and 4th quarter to put the game away. Stabler throws for just 143 yards, but 3 of his 10 completions go for TDs and van Eeghan rushes for 112 yards.
