Baltimore @ New England

Network: ABC
Announcers: Frank Gifford, Don Meredith, Howard Cosell
Format: DVD (3 disks)
Quality: 8.0
Notes: Includes commercials and halftime... There is a LOT of overlap between the disks (12+ minutes in 1 case), so its very disorienting at times with the way it was converted... First few minutes and last few minutes have a strange video issue (either skipped frames, or frames out of sequence).

Game Notes

Joe Washington, Colts stun the Patriots on MNF in 34-27 upset.

Left for dead, shut out in its 1st 2 games, Baltimore awakens behind a great multi-purpose performance by Washington, who caps the night with a 90-yard kickoff return for the winning score after New England had erased a 27-13 deficit to tie the game with less than 2 minutes to play.

The Patriots lead 13-7 before Washington starts the 4th quarter with a halfback pass to Roger Carr for a 54-yard TD, and then follows it with a 27-yard TD reception from Bill Troup. Carr then hauls in a 57-yard TD pass from Troup for a 27-13 lead.

However, Steve Grogan rallies New England after struggling for much of the night. He scores on a 4-yard TD run, and then Sam Cunningham ties it with a 1-yard TD run after a successful onside kick.

But Washington can't escape the spotlight on a rainy night, weaving through the Patriots on the ensuing kickoff. Washington rushes for 53 yards, catches 2 passes for 41 yards, and returns 2 kickoffs for 110 yards besides the 54-yard TD pass.
