Dallas erases a 10-3 deficit with a pair of TD passes by Roger Staubach to clinch the NFC East. New England dominates the 1st half, but finds itself short-circuited as 2 FG attempts are blocked, and another is missed following a TD that was negated by a motion penalty.

The Patriots lead 10-3 at the half despite the missed opportunities, but Staubach pulls the Cowboys even with a 40-yard TD pass to Tony Hill on a flea flicker in the 3rd quarter. Staubach hits Billy Joe Dupree for the go-ahead score on a 36-yard pass in the 4th. Staubach is 15-of-27 for 243 yards.
