Game Notes

Bucs withstand the rain, Bengals for a 17-12 win.

After a torrential downpour in the 3rd quarter, sets up Cincinnati for 9 points and a 12-10 lead, Tampa Bay regains the lead following a botched punt in still wet conditions. Pat McInally is unable to get off a punt deep in the Bengals' territory and a play later, Doug Williams hits Jimmie Giles for a 15-yard TD pass.

With monsoon-like conditions, Tampa Bay elects to take a safety, and then Cincinnati capitalizes on the short-field for a go-ahead score on Jack Thompson's 3-yard TD toss to Dan Ross. Williams hits 11-of-21 for 155 yards and 2 TDs to Giles.
