Richard Todd leads a 77-yard drive that he caps with a 11-yard TD pass to Jerome Barkum w/ :12 left. The drive comes on the heels on a 23-yard FG by Uwe von Schamann that forces New York to need a TD.

Todd, playing with a cracked rib, goes 21-of-38 for 203 yards. Miami struggles offensively without a passing game, but overcomes 2 early FGs by Pat Leahy when Tony Nathan scores on a 2-yard run in the 2nd quarter and then Larry Gordon sacks Todd for a safety, that is followed by a FG on the ensuing possession.
