Doug Betters blocks a tying PAT attempt w/ 1:53 left, and then Miami recovers the onside kick and runs out the clock to improve to 11-0. Philadelphia had jumped in front 14-0, and then rallied for a potential game-tying score when Ron Jaworski hits Melvin Hoover for a 38-yard TD pass only the see the Dolphins bat away the PAT.

Dan Marino throws for 246 yards and 1 TD, leading the Dolphins' comeback. Miami finally overtakes the Eagles on Pete Johnson's 1-yard TD run early in the 4th quarter for a 21-17 lead.
