New Orleans jumps out to a 17-0 lead, weathers a 3rd quarter rally before handing Houston its 5th straight loss to start the season. Hokie Gajan rushes for 90 yards and 2 TDs on 11 carries to lead the Saints.

Gajan starts New Orleans with a 15-yard TD run and Frank Wattelet returns an INT 35 yards for a score on a confusing play when the Oilers assumed a flag was against the Saints instead. Houston closes within 17-10 in the 3rd quarter, but Gajan's 37-yard TD burst seals the Oilers' fate. Struggling Houston manages just 8 first downs behind Warren Moon and replacement Oliver Luck.
