Raul Allegre's 34-yard FG w/ :10 left wins it for New York as defense and his foot are the key. Allegre hits 4 FGs, including the final one after Denver had tied it 16-16 on Sammy Winder's 3-yard TD run on the previous drive.

The Giants get their lone touchdown when George Martin makes a leaping 1-hand interception of a screen pass by John Elway, and then shrugs off Elway's tackle attempt en route to a 78-yard TD return. The play may have turned the game as New York takes a 10-6 lead when Denver appeared poised to extend a 6-3 edge in the 2nd quarter.

Elway throws for 336 yards, but suffers 2 INTs, as Denver turns it over 4 times. Joe Morris provides most of the Giants' offense with 106 yards rushing.
