Kansas City gets all 24 points from its special teams in capture its first post-season trip since 1971. The Chiefs strike early when Albert Lewis blocks Harry Newsome's 1st punt and Deron Cherry recovers in the end zone for a TD.

Following a FG by Pittsburgh, Boyce Green returns the ensuing kickoff 97 yards for a score and 17-3 lead. The Steelers appear poised to cut into the lead late in the 1st half when Bill Maas blocks a FG attempt and Lloyd Burruss scoops it up and returns it 78 yards for a TD. Kansas City able to win despite a 515-to-171 deficit in total yards.
