Denver awakens in the 2nd half after struggling through the 1st half. John Elway bounces back, hitting 12-of-16 for a TD after missing badly hitting just 6-of-18 in the 1st half. Elway starts the rally with a 1-yard TD toss to Clarence Kay to cut New England's lead to 13-10.

Elway continues the comeback with a perfect hook-and-lateral play on a 3rd-and-20 to set up Sammy Winder's 12-yard TD run for the go-ahead score. Winder runs for 89 yards as Denver's running game carries the comeback, with Gerald Willhite adding a 1-yard TD run in the 4th quarter.
