Game Notes

Dan Marino and Dolphins strike late to beat the Redskins 23-21.

On an 'off' night, Marino is on at the finish, rallying Miami to a win with a late drive capped when Mark Duper double-clutches a 6-yard TD pass with just over 1 minute to play. Despite being high and low much of the game, Marino throws for 393 yards and 3 TDs to keep the Dolphins alive in the playoff chase.

Washington had gone ahead on the previous possession when George Rogers scores on a 2-yard TD run. It was the 2nd lead change of the 4th quarter, following Marino's 59-yard TD pass to Duper for a 16-14 lead earlier in the quarter. Duper catches 6 passes for 170 yards and 3 TDs.
