New York dominates New England in Parcells' return to his old stomping grounds as the Jets score TDs on their 1st 5 possessions of the game. Boomer Esiason hits his 1st 13 passes and goes 17-of-21 for 215 yards and 1 TD.

New York converts 3 turnovers by Drew Bledsoe into 21 points and is never challenged, opening a 38-0 lead before the Patriots get on the board late in the game. Brad Baxter scores on a pair of short runs and Johnny Johnson adds a 6-yard TD run as the Jets open a 21-0 lead. Esiason hits James Thornton with a 13-yard TD pass and the rout is on.
