Game Notes

Dan Marino, Dolphins spike the Jets 28-24.

Marino decoys New York into expecting a clock-killing spike before hitting Mark Ingram with a 8-yard TD pass w/ :22 left. The Jets had led 24-6, but the Marino-to-Ingram tandem leads the Dolphins back. Marino throws for 359 yards and connects with Ingram on 4 TD passes.

New York had taken control of the game behind Boomer Esiason, who throws for 382 yards and 2 TDs. Esiason's 14-yard TD pass to Johnny Mitchell in the 3rd quarter gives the Jets a 24-6 cushion. However, Marino hits Ingram with a 17-yard TD pass, followed by a successful 2-point conversion to Irving Fryar, before they hook up again in the 4th quarter on a 14-yard TD pass.
