Patriots bring down the Lions 23-17.

Detroit's momentum coming off a stunning MNF win over Dallas, evaporates as Drew Bledsoe and New England are able to move easily against the Lions. Bledsoe throws for 251 yards and 1 TD.

Marion Butts adds a 5-yard TD run and Matt Bahr hits 3 FGs. Barry Sanders turns in a pair of highlight TDs, scoring from 35 and 39 yards, and finishes with 131 yards. But Detroit's passing game is inconsistent and the Lions turn it over twice.
