Carolina becomes the 1st expansion team to win 3 straight, collecting its 1st road win, as John Kasay hits a 29-yard FG in overtime. New England had erased a 17-3 deficit in the 4th quarter in hopes of avoiding the shut out.

Derrick Moore rushes for 119 yards and Kerry Collins throws for 309 yards and 2 TDs. Collins breaks open a 3-3 halftime tie with a 24-yard TD pass to Eric Guilford, followed by a 33-yard TD to Willie Green in the 3rd quarter. However, New England ties the game with a pair of TD runs by Curtis Martin, the second coming w/ :52 left in regulation.
