Game Notes

Ravens make Baltimore's NFL return triumphant with a 19-14 win over the Raiders.

The Ravens dominate the second half of their debut to surprise Oakland. Trailing 14-7, Baltimore's defense stops the Raiders' attack, while a no-huddle offense takes advantage of the Oakland defense. The Ravens draw 12 penalties by the Raiders, most coming on offsides or too many players on the field as a result of the no-huddle approach.

Baltimore converts the edge into a pair of FGs by Matt Stover to pull within 14-13, and then take the lead on Earnest Byner's 1-yard TD run in the 4th quarter. Vinny Testaverde throws for 254 yards and runs for 42 yards and a 9-yard TD run for the franchise's 1st score.
