Pittsburgh @ Carolina

Network: NBC
Announcers: Don Criqui, Beasley Reece
Format: DVD (2 disks)
Quality: 8.5
Notes: Most commercials and some halftime.... Original recorder started channel flipping during 2nd half commercials.... Also 1 play is missed, next is JIP and the following is edited out for some inexplicable reason.
Alternate version: 3 disks - 8.5 - (from WPXI Pittsburgh) with sharper picture but low volume. Halftime and most commercials edited out by original recorder who was an asshat about editing, cutting studio updates, promos, several plays JIP late after commercial edits. Grade lowered by lousy editing.

Game Notes

Panthers hang on to beat the Steelers 18-14.

Chad Cota wrestles the ball away from Andre Hastings in the end zone in the final minute to preserve the win and give Carolina the NFC West title. Pittsburgh comes up empty inside the Panthers' 20 twice in the closing minutes.

Carolina erases a 14-9 halftime deficit with 3 FGs by John Kasay in the 2nd half. Defenses dominate for most of the game, save an 80-yard TD run by Kordell Stewart that draws the Steelers within 9-7 in the 1st half.
