Game Notes

Raiders upset the unbeaten Broncos 28-25 with big plays.

Struggling Oakland stuns Denver as Napoleon Kaufman rushes for a Raiders-record 227 yards, including a critical 83-yard TD run. Holding a 21-17 lead in the 4th quarter, the Raiders face a 3rd-and-1 when Kaufman breaks free and sprints for the TD.

Earlier, Denver threatened to extend a 17-14 lead, driving deep in Oakland territory when John Elway fumbles and Eric Turner scoops it up and returns it 65 yards for a TD. Elway, who throws for 309 yards, draws the Broncos within 28-25 with a 28-yard TD pass to Ed McCaffrey and Terrell Davis' run for a 2-point conversion with just under 3 minutes to play, but the Raiders are able to run out the clock.
