Miami puts together a big drive when it counts, putting together a time-consuming 60-yard drive for Olindo Mare's 27-yard FG w/ 5:40 left to break a 14-14 tie. The Dolphins then come up with a big defensive stop, denying a 4th-down conversion that kills Kansas City's comeback hopes.

Dan Marino hits 19-of-31 for 259 yards and 1 TD after spending a week in the crosshairs due to Jimmy Johnson's critical comments. The Chiefs had taken a 14-7 lead on a pair of TD passes by Elvis Grbac, but Marino caps a 95-yard drive with a 7-yard TD pass to Bernie Parmalee late in the 1st half.
