Jacksonville gives up yards but not points as the defense makes big plays, forcing 5 turnovers and recording a franchise-record 6 sacks of Rich Gannon. Kansas City manages its lone turnover when Danan Hughes prevents a turnover by picking up 1 of 5 fumbles by the Chiefs and carries it in for a 2nd half TD.

However, the Jaguars put up 24 points in the 1st half before the offense is slowed when Mark Brunell sits out most of the 2nd half. Brunell hits Pete Mitchell for a 5-yard TD pass in the 1st quarter and James Stewart and Natrone Means add TDs in the 2nd quarter for a 24-3 lead.
