Kansas City bounces back after getting steamrolled by Pittsburgh in the 1st quarter. Jerome Bettis rushes for 68 yards in the 1st quarter, helping the Steelers sprint to a 10-0 lead.

However, the Chiefs recover, holding Bettis to 35 yards over the last 3 quarters while playing effective ball-control on offense. Pete Stoyanovich cuts the deficit to 10-6 with a pair of FGs in the 2nd quarter, and Marcus Allen puts Kansas City in front with a 14-yard TD pass to Danan Hughes just before halftime, following Jerome Woods' interception of Kordell Stewart.
