Game Notes

Steelers are too much for the Broncos in a 33-10 win.

Pittsburgh avenges a loss at Denver in the previous playoff with a dominating effort from its defense and big play passing game. The Steelers force 2 turnovers, sack Broncos QBs 6 times and hold Denver to 218 yards. Meanwhile, Terry Bradshaw throws for 272 yards and 2 TDs while hooking up with John Stallworth early and often.

Stallworth catches 10 passes for 156 yards and a 45-yard TD catch early in the 4th quarter to break the game open and give Pittsburgh a 26-10 lead. The Broncos had stayed close, but failed to cut into the gap when Joe Greene blocks a short FG attempt by Jim Turner.

Then Bradshaw hits Stallworth for a TD followed by a 38-yard TD pass on the next possession following a Broncos' turnover. Franco Harris rushes for 105 yards and 2 TDs.
