Game Notes

Patriots destined drive continues, beating the Steelers 24-17.

New England gets a pair of TDs from its special teams to open a 21-3 lead and withstand a rally by Pittsburgh. Troy Brown returns a punt 65 yards for the 1st score, and then Drew Bledsoe steps in for an injured Tom Brady and tosses a 11-yard TD pass to David Patten for a 14-3 halftime lead.

The Steelers wake up in the second half, but a FG attempt blows up in their face as a high snap precedes a blocked kick, with Brown picking it up and lateraling to Antwan Harris who takes it in 49 yards for a score. Pittsburgh responds with a continued comeback but its unable to overcome 3 INTs and a lost fumble by Kordell Stewart.
