Game Notes

Raiders finish off the Titans 41-24.

Oakland turns the game late in the 1st half and makes its path to the Super Bowl in the 2nd half. Two turnovers in a :39 span of the 2nd quarter turn into 10 points, as Tennessee's 17-14 lead turns into a 24-17 halftime deficit. Rich Gannon throws for 286 yards and 3 TDs leading the way.

Steve McNair draws the Titans within 27-24 in the 3rd quarter, but Oakland responds with a 2-yard TD run by Gannon and a 7-yarder by Zach Crockett. Gannon started the Raiders with 2 TD passes in the 1st quarter before McNair rallies Tennessee in the 2nd quarter to take the lead.

But a fumble deep in Tennessee territory leads to a 1-yard TD pass from Gannon to Doug Jolley with less than 2 minutes in the 1st half, and a fumble on the ensuing kickoff results in a Sebastian Janikowski FG.
