Chicago capitalizes on Shawn King's 'pop-gun' arm, forcing 3 turnovers by Tampa Bay, all being critical. Late in the 1st half, Tony Parrish picks King and returns it 37 yards for the Bears' lone TD and a 10-3 lead.

The Bucs draw even on King's 9-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter, but Chicago converts a fumble into the go-ahead score on Paul Edinger's 2nd FG. Tampa Bay is driving for a potential tying FG when Brian Urlacher intercepts a badly underthrown pass by King.
