New Orleans puts away Carolina in the 4th quarter after wasting opportunities throughout. In the end, its too much Ricky Williams as he rushes for 144 yards and 2 TDs, catches 3 passes for 35 yards and completes a 31-yard pass to set up the Saints' 1st TD.

Despite dominating the game statistically, holding the Panthers to 141 total yards, New Orleans struggles to pull away with Jeff Blake fumbling twice in scoring territory and misfiring often. However, Williams' 1-yard TD run w/ 5:16 left in the game finally gives the Saints some breathing room with a 17-6 lead.
