Martin recovers from going 2 laps down following a flat tire, to overtake the leaders and ease away to the win after a caution flag. Martin recovered 1 lap during a pit stop cycle, and another when teammate Jeff Burton let him get his lap down after the caution comes out.

Martin is able to hold off Jeff Gordon, as Roush Racing is the class of the field, leading 177 of 200 laps. Martin's teammate Ted Musgrave claims 3rd with Burton finishing 8th.
