Alex Zanardi breezes to the victory.

Zanardi jumps pole-sitter Greg Moore during the 1st round of pit stops and then pulls away from the field to win by 6.6 seconds following a later full-course yellow. Moore fades to 5th while needing to conserve fuel. Adrian Fernandez and Gil de Ferran finish 2nd and 3rd, but never manage to challenge Zanardi as he extends his points lead with his 3rd win of the season.
