Earnhardt taps leader Terry Labonte, sending him into a spin on the last lap. Earnhardt and Labonte had dominated the late stages after Tony Stewart led the 1st half of the race. Labonte had chased down Earnhardt on fresh tires to claim the lead with 3 to go before Earnhardt caught back up.

Ricky Rudd finishes 3rd ahead of Jeff Gordon and Stewart.
