Andretti holds off a hard-charging duo of Helio Castroneves and Dario Franchitti in the late stage for his 1st win since Homestead in the 1998 season opener. Andretti's win snaps a run of 3 straight wins by rookie Juan Pablo Montoya.

Montoya had started from the pole and run away, but mistakes drop him back into the field and despite 2 perfectly timed cautions, he's unable to break the top 10, finishing 11th.
