Jeff Burton wins rain-shortened race at Darlington.

Burton manages to capture the the victory when the skies open up and the track is unable to dry in time to resume with daylight. A 3-hour delay earlier, created a situation where a 2nd rain shower stopped the race and resulted in it being called after 164 laps.

Burton was a fortunate winner as his car was badly damaged as a result of a wreck on the final lap, and Burton and 3rd place finisher Jeff Gordon would have been unable to race do to the damage their cars suffered. Jeremy Mayfield finishes 2nd.
